Does having an MBA in this field help? I have heard it does and it does not.

Depends on the type of job. If you're not in academia, an MBA doesn't make as much difference. If you can demonstrate with your resume and experience that you are very good at what you do, an MBA won't be a decisive factor. Companies hire people who can solve problems and/or bring in revenue. That's more important than any particular credentials.

Thank you for the words there. I appreciate it. I have a background in finances, but a degree in English so that helps a lot to know.

I can say that when I received resumes at my job for Manager positions.  They listed job after job with manager experience.  Then,  the resume title had "Manager" in it also.
