Are there going to be other writing positions that come available?

Yes. You should check back regularly for new writing positions.
Good luck with your search

There's an enormous need for content on the web. A growing number of women as well as men are able to break into the field. One way to break in is to write a number of articles on a single topic..... let's say "Women's Health", but it could be anything in demand..... and put them on eBay for resell at a relatively inexpensive price. The key here, however, is that you can keep reselling the same material, if it's good. There are so many web sites, each with its own personalitiy and each piece of content doesn't have to be unique. Over time, you can build up a steady income.

| This is an excellent idea! I've worked for various websites and have written web content before, but I'd never tried selling pieces on Ebay. What sort of format do you put them in, in order to advertise them?

There is a definite learning curve here since there are several pieces of the puzzle.
1. The articles themselves. You want to make them stand out for quality since there is so much "shovelware"... or just hastily thrown together pieces out there.
To make more money and go faster you make want to "aggregate" articles by going to article sites where the copyright owner/writer gives you permission to use the work, as long as you leave their name and content info in. Even here, there are "good aggregators" and "shovelware" aggregators and you want to be the former.
2. In order to sell they have to be SEO, search engine optimized by using relevent keywords and ready to go with Google adsense code. You probably want to get your own free Google adsense acct. so you can show potential buyers what the page will look like and how many ads will be on it.
3. Your article(s) should be in either html or php. The latter is harder and you may not know how to do it. 2 examples:
http://www.advancingwomen.com/computers/index.php
http://www.advancingwomen.com/fitness/index.html
If you don't have it, you may want to get some WSIWYG or what you see is what you get software to produce and manage this content.
4. You get an account and sell these on eBay. You might want to label it "Adsense Website" or "Absense Website - Fitness" or whatever. Prices vary wildly because one can buy a "bucket" of various articles/websites including everything from dogfood to finance to astrology for $40 or $50 or pay $40 for really good aggregated content on a single topic. Although the first ones will take longer, you can probably put together a good aggregation, including some of your own work, pointing back to your website, in less than a day. So, it's not bad money, considering you can keep reselling it.
You also might want to approach a good website first and offer to do this for them, with their keywords, on a non-exclusive basis, for $40. That way your initial work is paid for, you get to keep reselling and you might develop an additional steady income stream from several sites.
Advancing Women will be opening a coaching section very soon, and we will be able to give you more support if you need it.
Good luck!

I've just discovered a new website, which writers may want to check out to see how well it pays. ( This is the first time I've seen it so....no guarantees. Also writers are paid a % of ad rev. -- the site can sell the articles and keep that revenue for itself. Don't know how advantageous that is.)
It's at http://www.helium.com
The payment arrangement is at ttp://corp.helium.com/About/help.aspx?chapter=Heliumphilosophy§ion=payingmembers
If someone tries out the site, please get back to us and share your info!
Thanks,

Very nice advice, awomen. I will definately give that a shot. I know I've sold a few articles to websites, here and there, but it tends to be kind of slow. It's nice to have some other options. I'm sure going to look into that link and see what that's all about
